Yocan The One -- A Fan's Verdict

Yocan The One -- A Fan's Verdict

Yocan has recently released an exclusive, limited edition portable vaporizer for wax and oil concentrates. Like most consumers, I have been one of the many who constantly scour the internet for the latest and the best vaporizer I can find and The One from Yocan is a promising new player. Yocan The One is a dual-purpose device that can be used either as a portable pen-style vaporizer or a portable nectar collector. Users can switch between the battery and the titanium nail by simply screwing and unscrewing the glass bubbler attachment via 510 threaded connections. Value wise, Yocan’s The One delivers exceptional advantages allowing you to experience both traditional dabbing and portable wax consumption in the price of one.

Honestly, I’m intrigued, not only because it can potentially be one of the best dab devices I’ll ever own but because it also is affordable. I’m curious how far my money will go with The One from Yocan.

A Quick Look

At a glance, The One looks like any portable vaporizer with a glass bubbler attachment. It comes in different color options, black, grey, blue, red, and yellow respectively. I like to keep it subtle so I ordered the black vaporizer. Here are some of its technical specifications.

  • Battery Capacity:  650mAh
  • Charging Type:  USB
  • Battery Voltage:  4.2V (when fully charged)
  • Battery Wattage:  15W (when fully charged)
  • Max Atomizer Wattage: 15W (exceeding will damage coil or shorten lifespan)
  • Atomizer Resistance: 0.8ohms

The box includes the following items:

  • 1 Glass Bubbler Mouthpiece
  • 1 Grade 2 Titanium Nail
  • 1 650mAh Battery
  • 2 Dual Quartz Rod Coils (1 Pre-Installed)
  • 1 Pick Tool
  • 1 Glass Jar
  • 1 USB Charger

I believe The One is only and currently available in the US market, I tried going over Yocan’s primary site only to find that The One is not in their collection. I would assume that the term
“exclusive” and “limited edition” only means that it’s made available only for the American market at present and at the time of writing.

Unboxing

For a vaporizer its price, I find that The One is pretty well packaged with a solid box that looks similar to what you’d see in top-shelf units. The printing on the box is detailed and is impressive, they nailed it with the gold over black color scheme that in my opinion shows how well these vaporizers are built from the inside out.

The cover pulls out smoothly but not too easy, it fits the lower portion of the box perfectly so as not to let its contents fall off and to let the user remove the lid without any difficulty. The parts of the vaporizer are stored in a soft, felt-like material and are each held snugly in a dedicated compartment. The first layer or level of the box holds the glass bubbler, the 510 threaded titanium nail, and the wax jar. The second layer holds the 510 threaded battery, an extra coil, a dab tool, and a USB charger. You’ll find that all your vaping essentials are included with the exception of a torch and of course your wax materials.

Right off the bat, Yocan’s The One provides users with the necessary tools and equipment for wax concentrate consumption. It makes for an ideal vaporizer for most beginners and vaping novices allowing them to experience dabs through an affordable and cost-effective device which offers the functionality of both a traditional nectar collector and a portable battery-powered pen-style vaporizer.

The Experience

I tried just how well The One works as a nectar collector and as a portable vaporizer. I find that the vapors were decent enough, either way, cloud production is not as visible as hitting from a dab rig but flavor and potency are there nonetheless.

I really enjoyed how The One incorporates water filtration to portable dabbing. Fill the glass bubbler/mouthpiece with water halfway through to experience moisture-conditioned hits whether you’re using the 510 threaded battery or if you’re collecting nectar from the glass jar. The glass bubbler is made from medical-grade glass to ensure safety and durability, using glass pieces also allow preservation of your wax’s flavor notes compared to plastic or metal bubbler/mouthpieces. The battery carries 650mAh of power and can sustain several sessions before it wants to charge, a fully charged battery fires with 4.2V or 15W of electrical-surge to its dual quartz coils for maximum vaping efficiency. By using quartz coils, The One can heat up and vaporize wax concentrates in seconds. Quartz in the coils also helps preserve flavor keeping your wax’s flavor profiles without giving off a hint of burnt taste.

The titanium nails provide a different experience which in my opinion is a little bit harsh compared to vaping from the quartz coils attached to the battery. The scorching hot titanium nails give off extra heat which blends with the vapor as the wax undergoes chemical-change. I tried letting the nails rest for a bit though it took a bit of finding the perfect heat level for that smooth hit. I find that those who have fewer experience with butane fuelled torch heated nectar collectors might experience a learning curve. I’m more of a portable vaporizer guy myself so I really appreciate The One’s 510 threaded battery more than the 510 threaded titanium nails though I must say it was a really interesting experience.

Final Thoughts

Yocan’s The One has the potential to compete with some of the best vaporizers out there. For its price, this portable, dual-purpose device really delivers value far greater than any vaporizer I had. The One from Yocan offers wax concentrate consumers with a variety of ways to experience the benefits of wax concentrates, from manual dabbing with a blow torch, to convenient battery powered vaping, The One covers almost all facets of wax concentrate vaping packaged in an affordable and reasonably priced unit.

I’d give The One from Yocan a thumbs up for versatility, practicality, and functionality.
